Raheem Sterling Defends Himself Over His Controversial New Tattoo Amid Calls to Lose England Spot

Raheem Sterling has defended himself after coming under fire following his display of a brand-new tattoo on his right leg.

Sterling shared his new tattoo on his Instagram page, which is an image of an assault rifle pointed down towards his foot.

The tattoo came under fire from different quarters in England, who demanded that it should be removed or covered up. There were even calls for him to be dropped from the squad if he does not do something about it!

Sterling since has come out and explained the reason behind the tattoo and also revealed how much he hates guns and vowed to never touch one following the killing of his father by a gunshot when he was two-years-old.

He wrote on his Instagram story, “When I was 2 my father died from being gunned down to death. I made a promise to myself I would never touch a gun again in my life. I shoot with my right foot so it has a deeper meaning.”
